Cape Breton Campgrounds Prepare for Another Busy Season

As per a report, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia, Canada) campgrounds and other outdoor recreation sites are gearing up for another busy season.

Susan Dunphy, co-owner of Hide Away Campground in Dingwall, and her husband Alex said they see solid levels of interest in campsite bookings.

“Oh yeah, our bookings are up this year over the past couple of years,” said Dunphy. “We’re expecting it to be better than the past couple of years for sure. I mean, people are feeling a little more confident about traveling, and reservations are looking good so far.”

Dunphy stated that she believes people are more comfortable traveling and leaving home this year.

“We haven’t really had too much direction from (the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage), but I think that things will be a little bit more relaxed everywhere this year.”

The online reservation system for Nova Scotia’s provincial parks will open on April 5.

Due to the anticipated large demand for reservations, booking across the province’s 20 campgrounds will be available for three days, beginning April 5 to 7.

The majority of day-use and camping parks are scheduled to be open on Victoria Day weekend in May, and some will open in June.

A list of the campgrounds open for campsite reservations each day is available on the Nova Scotia provincial parks website.
