Tourism organizations work hard to create new opportunities for communities, businesses, and operators, positioning the industry for a strong, swift recovery. That is why the Government of Canada is investing to help EKÖ NATURE Glamping Inc. of Lac Baker build unique year-round accommodations.

Ecotourism start-up provides unique accommodation for regional offerings

Today, René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, announced a repayable contribution of $225,000 to EKÖ NATURE Glamping Inc. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

This investment will support the construction of four luxurious domes with private outdoor spas in the Haut-Madawaska region. These facilities will provide year-round accommodations strategically located in the village of Lac Baker with access to hiking, snowmobile trails, mountain biking trails, and lakeside public beaches that provide fishing and kayaking opportunities for tourists.

Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to supporting Atlantic Canadian tourism organizations and operators as they continue to develop fresh approaches and innovative ways to overcome pandemic challenges, grow their business, and deliver world-class tourism experiences.

“In the last year, tourism operators have shown tremendous resilience and determination to welcome visitors and keep jobs in the region. As per our plan for a strong economic recovery in Canada, our government continues to invest in projects and initiatives like this one, which will reposition Atlantic Canada as a destination of choice and prepare the region to welcome more visitors soon.”

“EKÖ NATURE Glamping will attract even more visitors to northwestern New Brunswick and enrich the local tourism experience. This will build on our competitive advantages, help fuel economic development and add to the vibrancy of this community. The entire region will benefit from this unique opportunity to showcase what we have to offer, as we keep building our reputation as a world-class destination to attract more visitors and create more jobs.”

René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche

“EKÖ NATURE Glamping will be offering a new concept of ecotourism tourist accommodations within our region that will offer a perfect blend of comfort and an ultimate nature experience.  Each eco-luxury dome will be located on the side of the mountain, perfectly integrated into the landscape overlooking our beautiful lake and mountains. Strategically located close to the entrance of the Atlantic Provinces and US border, our ecotourism project will help tourists explore our beautiful region and will see that we have a lot to offer.”
